The Bangkok Sky Trains

So I have been using the public transportation here a lot and I am pretty impressed. The BTS (Bangkok Sky Train) is an elevated train with 2 lines running in the central city area and connected to a third. I can get from the MBK/National Stadium area all the way past sala deuong sp? Where the night market is or back over to Sukhumvit with all the restaurants clubs and hotels are or up north to Victory Monument or Chuatuchuk park where weekend market is. It is clean and the trains are air conditioned, there are vendors for food and stuff but it is all spread out, organized and not like the cramped & tiny street stalls…there are also trash cans in the BTS stations TG! I have been carrying my trash around with me on the streets each day because I can’t bring myself to litter (the streets are FULL of it) but there are NO trash cans. Someone told me it they were removed for bombing scares but jeez louise the trash is outrageous, people just drop their trash on the ground anywhere! It makes me cringe, and then when it rains the streets just smells like wet garbage, ug. Now if only they would extend the rails to the Banglapoo area (meuseums, temples and hostels) but anyway, the BTS is very clean :) Kudos to the city on that one!

In the picture Nadalie, a french traveller I was spending the day with, recognized a billboard from a project she worked on and was taking a photo
