Soi Arab

I visited an interesting area called Soi Arab, and as you could probably guess it’s the Middle Eastern district of Bangkok, between Soi 3 and 5 on Sukhumvit. It had a feel all its own, all the women in traditional Muslim garb with their heads (and many faces) covered. Speaking Arabic and Farci and even the signs were in Arabic instead of Thai. Walking by many of the open air restaurants/patios you could smell the many Shesha pipes being smoked. We wandered through till we came to a place Callum recognized and went in to eat. The smell alone was enough to encourage an appetite but I was already hungry so the small wait for our food after we ordered seemed longer, ha. The food was FABULOUS! The best Ganug I have ever had, actually everything was very authentic. We had Hummus, cucumber yogurt, ganug, curry, kabob, BBQ lamb and chicken all delicious! I was so full I almost needed to be rolled home but it was a great dinner!
